WARNING

I read the label of a bottle of Equate ibuprofen today after taking 800 mg, or four tablets worth.

The first inactive ingredient is anhydrous lactose.

Fuck.

No Lay's dill pickle flavored potato chips, no off-brand ibuprofen...next thing you know, they'll be spraying strawberries with it.

GOREMAY

You know, you can make some respectable cookies with a box of cake mix, a stick of butter and an egg. Roll them in some coarse-grained sugar before baking and you're golden.

GIMMEE GIMMEE

I want one of these. Hey, are we bleeding-edge or what?

AND...
T-minus one week until the big 2-9 for me.

I FEEL...

...like a sorority girl gone absolutely rotten and bad.
...like I should be writing essays for indie zines.
...like I should play at being indigent again for at least a month while Mo is in Brittania.
...like I have a heritage of lycanthropy.
...like what the docs and RNs and PA-Cs are saying is absolute gibberish.
...like there is an eclipsed Black Moon approaching on the morrow.
...like I've been ravished by a force of nature, I'm not sure which one.
...like I'm not really here.

REVERENDS

Our friend Sean recently became a reverend in the Universal Life Church. He has a title. He has a flock. He can grant absolution. He can hear confessions, such as they might be. It's fully legal and legitimate as far as religious practices go.

On a whim, I went to the ULC website, investigated the ordination process...and...

SHAZAAAM! I'm a reverend, too.

Now, I'm far too cynical to actually try to use that title, or grant absolution, or give formal advice. But I can if I want to do so. I can only assume Sean's heart is in the right place by granting us all RetCon absolution.

Now, about those puppies I want to kill for satan...

WHAT THE HECK...

...am I doing inside on a bright, sunny bird-chirpy 75-degree day in late May? Hiding. There's nowhere I can go without running into PEOPLE. Except here. I am alone here. Most other weekdays, the PEOPLE are going about their business in stores and offices and such, not bothering to venture out to the places I frequent (Beulah Bog, the Ice Age Trail, Lapham Peak, KMSF, Minor Park, Scuppernong Springs, etc.). Today, though, the weather and the holiday have brought them out in noisy droves. All the above-mentioned places are crawling with noisy, littery, smoky, trompy-stompy people with their bum bags and their hats and their screamy whiny children.

I have no right to feel like this, what with all of the above being public lands, but it seems like they're invading my space.

There's only one other place I know I can go to get a piece of quiet and take in some of the goddess-almighty spring battery recharge: Vernon Marsh. Acres and acres of wetlands with a path running right through the middle; there are geese and goslings, ducks, cranes, frogs, turtles, and more redwing blackbirds than you or I could shake a stick at. Excuse the grammar. And no one goes there except me.

HAUNTING
I saw a roadkilled fox right next to a roadkilled raccoon. Kitsune and Tanuki? No...couldn't be. Not They Themselves.

Let's be careful out there, guys.
