SOME IN BLACK, SOME IN GREEN

Hey ho, it's another cross-quarter day.

Climb into the cauldron and see if you can come out. At the bottom, will it be Granny, Nanny or Magrat waiting for you?

Or will it be me?

CLAIMS TO FAME

Occasionally someone from my past will pop up in an odd way. Apparently my boyfriend from junior year in high school, Steve Concotelli, has nabbed himself a spot on Short Screamers. Oh, and he's won something for directing commercials, too. Or something. Congratulations, bub. Aren't you glad you got the hell away from this hick town? Yeah. Figured. I knew you when you were just starting out, remember. I mean, not that it matters much.

I wonder, if (no WHEN) I thru-hike the Appalachian Trail, will I get a big ol' recap bio in my hometown paper like Steve did? Or when Josh and I jump the broom, will we get one of those cheesy sappy couples pictures in the local paper too?

You damn well bet we will. Maybe not cheesy/sappy, though. Maybe it'll be of us in a tree, or on playground equipment, or dressed a la Dada, or in a big bathtub, or something. By then he'll be a great librarian, or at least a Master's level one. By then, I will have re-embarked on my actual education, not this tapping buttons in sequence hoohah I do for money now, and will be training to distance and endurance hike.

So yeah - Steve, if your ego makes you Google yourself...here's an extra hit, and 3 more embarrassing blasts from your past. Jason Thunder, baby. AGENT 15. Top Secret.

I should have gone out with Brooksie instead.

WEEKEND INCIDENTS

I'm known for writing amusing anecdotes about my conflicts with others and ones I've seen. I don't think I have it in me at the moment to do that, but there were two noteworthy conflicts this weekend. One was at a Halloween party on Saturday night, and shall be heretofore referred to as "The Ghetto Brick Incident." The other involved trick or treating with Homestar Runner - er, Mo - and being told at alternate houses that it was LAST night. Uh...the Village of Mukwonago ran ToT from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., and last I checked, our subdivision is smack in the Village. Unless we seceded and no one told me.

So we went to the guaranteed candy house - grandma and grandpa's - and we were laden with more Tootsie Rolls and Reese's than we would have acquired elsewhere. Mo got a homemade cookie at Borders and approving looks from patrons.

Emotions ran high. Tempers flared, occasionally heightened by alcohol, occasionally by by downright meanness. Tears were shed. Words were exchanged. Bricks were put down. People calmed the fuck down, and the Doctor and Ace made their departure.

So all is well...for now.
